Question: Who will award the Executive Diploma?

Answer: The Executive Diploma will be awarded by University Technology Malaysia

Question: Is there convocation for the graduates of this programme?

Answer: Yes, the graduates will attend the convocation ceremony at UTM.

Question: Am I qualified to undertake this programme since I have only completed SPM?

Answer: Yes you are qualified to undertake the executive diploma since the minimum requirement is only SPM with at least 3 years of working experience.

Question: I am working in Government agency, can I pursue this programme?

Answer: You have to find out from your superior whether you are eligible for promotion or increment upon completing this programme because some of the agencies do not accept the programmes which are assessed based on paper works.

Question: How will I be assessed?

Answer: You will be solely assessed based on your examinations, assignments and project paper.

Question: Can I continue my studies after completing the Executive Diploma?

Answer: Yes you can continue your studies to Executive Masters Level but you must score maximum points in your Executive Diploma and must possess adequate working experience. However it is solely under the university’s prerogative.

Question: How can I pay the fee?

Answer: You can pay the fee through your EPF (Account 2), if you are sponsored by your company, they can claim the fee through HRDF, Bank Loan or monthly payment.

Question: When should I pay my fee?

Answer: You have to submit your application to UTM and if you are qualified UTM will send the offer letter together with letter to EPF and other financial institutions. You can only process your fee after receiving all these documents..

Question: Can I attend my class before the fee is processed or paid?

Answer: Yes you can attend the class while the relevant authorities are processing your application for financial assistance.

Question: What will happen if my EPF is not enough?

Answer: You can take out the amount that you have in your account two and the balance can be settled in instalment.

Question: Can I pay in cash and what are the procedures?

Answer: You can pay RM 4,000 as initial payment and the balance can be settled in three or four payments.

Question: What are the procedures if my company sponsors my studies?

Answer: if your company would like to pay your fee through HRDF, they can do it under SBL Scheme. The fee can claimed in modular basis. UTM will provide invoice to the company at least 2 weeks before the commencement of each module and company has to the invoice to claim from HRDF.

Question: When the classes will be conducted?

Answer: The classes will be conducted only one weekend in a month. One module will be completed in a month (in two-days). Therefore you can complete 16 modules in 20-24 months. However, the candidates are given maximum three years to complete this programme.

Question: What is the language used by the lecturers?

Answer: The official language for this course is English, however the lecturer will normally use simple English and Bahasa Malaysia. The candidates have the liberty to produce the assignments in English or BM.

Question: The lecturers are all academicians?

Answer: One of the advantages of this programme is the lecturers who are appointed by UTM will normally have both academic and industrial background. Therefore they have the ability to conduct the course according to the needs of the candidates.

Question: What are the facilities am I entitled to?

Answer: The candidates will be given full notes for each module and on top of that they are also allowed to access UTM e-library.

Question: Can UTM conduct the courses in house?

Answer: Yes, the courses can be conducted in-houses provided the particular company has minimum of 25 students. The company has the liberty to determine venue and time for the courses to be conducted.
